Avondale Haslet Dental Center is a state-of-the-art dental facility! With modern dental tools and techniques, Dr. Baugh and her team are revolutionizing today’s dentistry. The following are a few examples of how we are moving dentistry forward.
Our office uses digital radiography to take x-rays that may be needed to diagnose pathology or infection within your mouth. Digital x-rays use 90% less radiation than conventional film radiography. The exposure to a full set of digital x-rays is equivalent to spending an afternoon in the sun. Additionally, the quality and diagnostic ability of digital radiography is substantially better than film x-rays.
Using this technology, we are able to take x-rays of your mouth by using a small sensor which records the image of your teeth. This images are then processed by our clinical computers, and placed into your dental chart. Dr. Baugh can enhance these highly detailed images to adequately diagnosis oral pathology and determine the proper treatment of these concerns.
Our office is an all digital (paperless) dental office. There are computers in every exam room with sophisticated dental software which allow our staff to adequately chart your dental history, while minimizing your time in the chair. Computerized charting standardizes the charting process so it is clear and easy to understand. Ultimately, it enables us to provide our patients with the most accurate and precise care. Should we refer you to a specialist, digital charting allows us to quickly and securely share your dental information electronically.
Intra-oral cameras have revolutionized the entire patient education process. The Soprolife camera is the newest breakthrough in dental technology. With the aid of this camera, Dr. Baugh will take you on a virtual tour of your mouth by displaying magnified images of your teeth on our operatory monitors. With a belief in minimally invasive dentistry, Dr. Baugh is able to preserve as much tooth structure as possible during the removal of a cavity.
Fluorescence technology is used to find and detect cavities sooner than with other techniques and devices. The Soprolife camera emits a light onto your tooth and, when it is in treatment or diagnosis mode, your tooth will emit a color that aids Dr. Baugh in determining if the tooth is healthy or diseased. This color change will allow you to see Dr. Baugh’s diagnosis much easier. The sooner a cavity is found, the less damage your tooth will endure, and the smaller the restoration.
